Rob shared their savvy idea to create a “World Trenchless Day.” (No such day had existed before.) The celebration shines a spotlight on all of trenchless technology’s benefits — safety, economics, environmental, social.

-When they first pitched the idea to sponsors, they loved it!

-They started with an online quiz to gauge attendee interest. Their audience loved it.

Today, World Trenchless Day unites the entire trenchless industry — manufacturers, contractors, engineering firms, associations, public works and publications — to share the world of trenchless technology and the impact that trenchless methods have on their communities.

The event has been a big win for everyone and an opportunity to celebrate their industry.  The engineers loved posting photos on social media too, using #worldtrenchlessday. Now every year they look forward to learning and networking during the event.

Think about it. What kind of “Day” can YOUR niche magazine turn into an event? And what’s the lesson from this little idea that resulted in a big revenue success? Make it up! Be creative! Unite your community!
